Time between case status disappearance and Interview letter

Hi Guys

I will greatly appreciate if anyone will answer my question. After case status disappears, how many days it takes to receive the interview letter? Any experience? Thanks.

Date varies across DO. My case disappeared on 10/18 and i got my letter 10/20

There is no hard and fast rule. My case status disappeared on 8/23/06 and I haven't yet received the interview letter. And, btw, my name check has also been cleared. That was confirmed during one of my Infopass appointments. I am apparently waiting for system pickup.
 
thank you all for the info, I think this is a helpful thread. it helps us assure one another that our documents are being processed according to the "norm". this is particularly good as you can never otherwise get reliable adn relevant info from USCIS.

here's my experience so far -
sent application to VSC
check cashed 10/31
PD 10/26
FP 11/18
I cancelled an earlier planned trip to make it to this FP as the lady in the CIS Philly office told me that I can reschedule by mail but should expect a repsonse in 2 months. this did not seem practical, so today I will show up for fingerprinting. will keep you guys posted on my timeline.

by the way how are you guys able to check your case status online? I filed my application by mail as that was the only option avaialble, I got by notice of action and fingerprint sched by mail and in none of those mails did I receive a receipt with a number for tracking, I just know they cashed the check from my bank records. Can someone please enlighten me on this?

Go to the USCIS website at: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

Scroll to the bottom and on the right you will see a dialogue box that says "Enter Case number Here"

Your case number can be found on your notices of action. It consists of 3 letters e.g. ESC, an asterisk *, and nine numbers e.g. 001267839.

Type that in hit go and it will tell you the status of your case.

got the fingerprint done here in philadelphia. 1pm appointment, went in there 12.15pm, out by 1.20pm
