Confused about: "Time as a Resident in District or State"

Here is the rule from the Guide to Naturalization, p. 28:
“Most people must live in the district or state in which they are applying for at
least 3 months before applying.”

I have been a resident of the State I want to apply from (for Citizenship) about 13 months now.
But I came back from the trip abroad before one and half month (I am physically present without interuption for last 45 days )

Am I eligible to apply now?

Thank you JoeF :)

Is this true even if you stay for prolonged perod of time? I was away a little under 6 months!??

Did you change your residency? Did you receive a Driver's License from the other State?

If not, then you are OK.

I was in the same boat unlike you and applied about 2.5 months after coming
back from a visit abroad. Applied on 11/03 and received the PD letter atleast.
Seems like that should be fine..

I was confused by the same requirement but others on this forum were
kind enough to provide me with the same information as they have in your
case.. You should be fine..

Good luck !!!

I did not change my residency. Just went abroad for almost 6 months due to illness in the family.

Thank you very much everyone for such a great support with this vague immigration issues. You know yourself how it feels to be in this situation and not knowing what to do.

Thanks again.

Sorry, one more thing:

I am resident in this State for 13 months but due to other things (unemployment, sickness of the family member abroad....) I have changed my driving license to this State just recently, upon coming back from abroad.

I guess and hope this shouldn't meter??
