Tier 2 immigration officer

Today I called NCSC again. And I talked to a guy. He is nice. At the end of conversation, I asked if he can put me through to a tier 2 officer. He just put me through without asking anything.
So I talked to a tier 2 officer. He has more information about my case. He said I passed the multiple agency check back in May2002, which sounds weird to me. But since then no updates. :( He's based in LA, and he's a very nice man.

So try to convince tier 1 officer to put you through to tier 2, if you failed, try again. See what's the last update on your case.

And let me know.

DengDeng,

You passed the agency tests in May 2002 or did you mean 2003?

Also, what is your RD & ND?

Thanks,

airDD

Tier 2 immigration officer can see your information, but can't tell you the current status and why it is delayed.

I had similar experience earlier.

manuhamhi, what information you got from tier 2 officer before?
can they tell you about 2nd fp or name check status?

I am willing to bet the call to the BCIS 1-800 number goes to a call center. It is a separate building and there are no "immigration officers" around. There cannot be any "immigration officers" around unless the call-center is attached to the processing department of a service center. I am betting that the "Tier 2 Immigration Officer" is the call-center floor supervisor and is somewhat senier and probably has access to more info like application history.

Try calling any 1-800 # (say for a bank or a credit card company) and ask for a "supervising officer". The rep will get someone on the phone. In the call-center business it is called "escalation". It serves no other purpose than to sweet talk an irate customer with more (and equally useless) information.

Next time sound pissed and ask for a "Tier 3 Immigration Officer" or "floor supervisor". You will get the same nice (but useless) guy on the phone.

Just speaking from industry experience ...

dengdeng,
you know my case. In brief my attorney moved to a new location never updated my 485 file. On June 2nd they issued a RFE, we never recieved it.

So I called NCSC explained my problem. They put me to Immigration officer( Tier 2). She looked at my file checked my address. She couldn't find attorny address in her display.

Also told me when RFE was issued etc., and other information.

She told me that, don't have access to entire information.
because remaining details will be in my physical file at vsc office.

Also local BCIS guys told me exactly same thing.
