Hi Guys-
I got a speeding ticket (25 mph in a 20 mph zone) this week. I have already been fingerprinted for N-400 and await interview date. Does it matter whether you actually pay the ticket or appeal it? Reason I ask is that I appealed the speeding ticket which may or may not be adjudicated before my N-400 interview. I appealed it because I think I was within the margin of error for speeding and I wanted to avoid added insurance costs...I have a copy of the ticket and if people think it will cause issues, I can always call up the RMV and pay the ticket rather than wait for a court date. Of course if they have found me guilty of speeding, I was planning on paying the ticket at that point (as per the law).
I included all my other tickets (about 6 traffic tickets over 13 years, none except this one in the last 5 years) in my N-400 and was planning on carrying this ticket with decision (if made) or a copy showing that I appealed it to my interview (in case the ticket is not adjudicated).
Let me know what you folks think. Did I make a mistake by appealing and should I just get it resolved before the interview? Would like to avoid the added insurance costs if I can help it, but not at the cost of delaying my N-400
Thanks
