Hi,

How much time does it usually take for CP at Chennai after I-140 approval?

Does one have to be employed by the same employer who filed for I-140 at the time of appearing for CP?

What happens to CP after it's filing if the person leaves the job after I-140?

Thanks for all your answers!

------
After your case is created at NVC, it should take 5-7 months. Creation of the case itself might depend on the service center where your I140 was approved.

Not necessarily. GC is for a future job. It is ok if you are not working for the sponsoring employer, but you MUST join the sponsoring company after your GC and you need to get an employment letter from them during the interview.

See answer to the above question. If you leave the job with no intention of joining back with the company, then you will need to start the process over from scratch.
