This might be a stupid question, but ...

I heard that to sumit I485 application, one has to also submit w2's plus federal and state income tax form. The thing is, those income tax forms were already submitted to tax department, how do we get them back?? Also, if w2's and tax forms have to be original, one can file I485 once and once only, that's scar :eek: y!

Many lawyers prefers to submit tax returns. But USCIS always asks for photocopies. You don't need originals.

You need not submit, You can submit copies. If you missing them Go to IRS web site and serach for transcript. Call that number they will fax you free within 15 minutes. You can use those transcipts.
 
I did not submit

I did not submit my tax papers at all and it was approved. When I asked my lawyer, he said no, there was no need for tax documents....i guess he was right in my situation.
