Allright everyone, my journey ends here (atleast this leg !)...:)

Today I got my "Green Card" in the mail....pretty hi-tech card I tell you....

And life continues....tomorrow will be the same day as today...no different, just the fact that you dont need to leave the country anymore if you did not have a job !!

All the best to everyone on this forum....you shall get your approvals too....its just a matter of time.

I'll keep wandering around this forum from time to time in case I can answer someone's question. Kinda got addicted to it now after visiting it almost every day for the last 2 years ! ;)

Hang in there people and all the best ! Remember there is light at the end of the tunnel !

Totally Unfair..!!
2 approvals...while people are eagerly awaiting their 'first' :)
Good Luck

I totally agree with you vijayrc....and I would love for second approvals to be transferrable :) but such are not the ways of this world !

I hope everyone waiting gets their first approval soon !

Thanks !

How far is BCIS 970 Broad St office from Newark Penn Station. Is it a walking distance?. I am inclinded to take a train rather than my car.

Congrats!!

Just curious as to how you have 2 approval dates.Did you receive 2 separate notices or approved twice? Elaborate pls.

gcinjan2003,
The Broad St office of the BCIS in Newark is walking distance from Newark Penn Station. I took the train and it took me about 10 mins walking from the station to get to the BCIS office. So if you want you could walk.

Parking is also available there, and I think it would cost you ~$10 for a couple of hours. Driving is a pain in Newark, but with the present state of NJ Transit and its frequent delays, you may be better of driving.

GCSeekerInd,

Look at this thread:

http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?threadid=91916

Basically what happened is (I think, and thats what an IIO told me), that after my stamping, when the fingerprinted form and the pictures went back to the BCIS, someone must have updated my case with this information. This caused the system to send another approval notice.

Now here is the interesting thing, the first notice showed my PD to the same as my RD ! The next approval notice showed my PD to what it actually was (Aug 2000) !

So I received 2 physically approval notices, one with AD 5/13 and the other with 6/10. My wife only recvd one approval notice with AD 5/13.

I have graciously kept the second approval notice as a souvenir. My lawyers and even the IIO said that it was safe to ignore the second notice. I did that, and yest I recvd. my card !

All the best to you !
