This is what my lawyer told me about my RFE case (RD 9/4). Although your applications were filed then, the INS cheats a little and uses the receipt printing dates (notice dates) for case tracking purposes in you RFE. Therefore, your applications are classified as November 2001. It is not due for processing under INS's published times. INS will not respond to "problem" inquiries until an application has fallen more than 30 days behind standard processing times.

How about you guy, what date you have in your RFE. (RD or ND date).

longest RFE case

Check this list of RFE case for last a couple days. None of them are approved. The longest RFE case was reponsed in April 2002. Be prepared!! :(

hmmm, that's may not the case.

If i'm right, the procedure should be:

The adjudicator officer will keep your file on his/her desk for a period of time (1 month?) for waiting your RFE coming back, if you can not reply within the period, the officer has to return your file to the staging area to be re-assigned, that may cause long delay. That's make sense that your file may be ignored until the assigning the Nov. cases, so how long your RFE approved is depends on the time of replying and your luck. TheRealCanadian may have more clear info. on this.

I just saw several Oct. RFE cases (ND Nov.) been approved last week.
