This is strange about PCC

As I went through so many PCCs inquiry. And I feel something strange. Canadian Consulate General is asking PCC in original. If you send your passport to Indian Emabassy and they stamp PCC on our passport. So how will we send this PCC to Can.Consu.General? You are not going to send your passport.
Or.
Is Indian Embassy giving a seperate paper for PCC?

Plz advice gurus.

Indian embassy will give you a letter (PCC) apart from the stamp in your passport.
You need to mail the letter.
