Someone from B.CI.S. called me today in the evening and asked me that she was calling me regarding the inquiry which I made in Jun-Jul she was not sure about the exact date, she confirmed my new current address as I had recently moved, although I have not received any address confirmation notice from BCIS so far.

She told me that I should get some sort of written correspondence in 3-4 weeks. I asked her what the notice is about she said that she does not know at this moment and she is confirming my address information.

Do you have any guess, what it could be, can it be regarding the 2nd FP or RFE?

DengDeng anybody.....

NOTHING

I also got a same phone call from BCIS. I made 2 inquiries in the past (one in june and one in july). Never heard or got any reply from BCIS. A lady called me and she told me the same thing. Hope we will see some kind of movement on our case.

Be cautious

It's not normal practice that BCIS verifies your address over the phone, especially in the evening.

I got a phone call from a stupid nerd (or ID thief) claiming he is an INS officer. Please be cautious when you give out information. Ask them to verify your EAC# or A#.

This sounds dangerous. I contacted NCSC in late July, and till today I haven't received anything.

It could be the person who recorded your address got it wrong, and VSC compared the address with the address on your file, and found the discrepancy. So called you.

But calling you is so weird. Esp in late evening. I thought they are all gone by 5pm.

Another possibility, remember I posted sth about IIOs before?
They are all telecommuters work at home. So could be they finally have time after their babies go to sleep, and call you guys. :)
Their day life is play with babies, get groceries, do laundry, night life is call couple of people, and watch TV. What kind of job this is!

Anyone has caller ID? can you tell what number called you?

Can the next person to make an inquiry

ask the IIO if this is a common procedure. I dont know if these are ID theives. They could potentially get your ssn and mom's name and pretty much play with your credit.

Just in case in a month or so, request a copy of your credit file.

Chill out guys, I am not stupid enough to give out my SSN or Credit card number, she had probably called me in the morning at my work number but I was not in the office at that time she did not left any message but I got the message from my front desk person that some person called me and she will call me back again.

She did not say anything, she already had my address so even if she was ID thief she already has all my address information and I am pretty sure she will not be stupid to get herself traced by calling me personally, additinally I have called 2 times BCIS so far and both of the time they noted the work number and secondary number and email alongwith the application.

I guess it could be also part of the quality control that they show they do something with the cutomer service.

Anyway I was happy that they had my address, all the goverment numbers are usually not published as they maybe very well using some VOIP service to save money.

The call was genuine

Guys,

The lady did not ask me a single question she just varified the address. And told me you will get some written response from BCIS in next 3-4 weeks..............And I absolutely think she was genuine !!!

So no reason to view this matter NEGATIVELY.

I agree, I would vote that this call could be BCIS effort to show that they meet certain quality standards.
