this I-485 petition blows me!!!

I am the lame duck in my family to not get a approval of I-485 and I needed it the most. My parents and my brother were approved long time ago in NOV 2004. I requested an inquiry last month and today i got a response saying that "the processing of your petition and application has been delayed due to some security checks." All of the prestigious college institutions conditionally accepted me on basis that i could get my permanent resident card to them by july. Now looking for valuable solutions from you, I request if there is any chance that I could appeal to them for quicker response based on that all of my family got approved except me even though we filed on the same date. How to tackle the response by USCIS to get my I-485 application approval quicker. Any suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated. Please help me out.

Contact your senator

Hi Randall,

The best course for you is to contact your Senator/Congressman and explain their office your situation. You can also write an email to FBI regarding your name check, but they are very slow and responding to Nov'2004 emails.

Hopefully, your senator/congressman can push things.

I think the best thing for you to do is try to call FBI and explain them your situation and you can find all the info about it in Mr. Rahul Kumar's Post where he has a PDF explaining the entire process or else you can look for the thread create by "rajudm" about name check issues and how to resolve them.

As per my experience, I had to spend nearly 8 Months working hard with FBI and USCIS to get it cleared, and sincerely Congressman/Senators are not much useful as it is related to Security Check. I would also suggest you to write a good precise letter to Mr.David Hardy or to Mr.Hooton requesting them to work on your case and give them the immediate reason so that they can expedite it. Good Luck!
