A friend of mine applied for asylum last year and recently got scheduled for an interview. That process took less than a year.
I know this has nothing to do with 485-EB but at least we know that BCIS is doing very well in reducing asylum backlog once they allocated more resources (officers who normally adjudicate 485 apps) to it.
Hopefully once those resources are put back into processing 485 on Oct 1st we'll see the same speed of progress.
Just pray for it !!
