The Way To Make your photos Acceptable

Submitting a digital photograph
1.Set the image format of your camera to jpeg and the resolution in highest
mode.(changing the format to jpeg is possible by image softwares either)
2.Take a photo according to the instructions.
3.Move your photo to computer.
4.Open "Adobe Photoshop" application, and go to "File" menu then click
on "Open" then select your photo and click "Open" button.
5.Go to "Image" menu then go to "Mode" and make sure that "RGB Colors"
and "8 Bits/Channel" are ticked.
6.Now go to "Image" menu and click on "Image Size", Now set the "Width"
to 240 PIXEL and the "Height" to 320 PIXEL and then click "OK".
7.Your image will become smaller, now go to "File Menu" again and click on
"Save As" then write a different name to your Image and choose JPEG
format and in the "JPEG Options" Window increase the quality up to the
limitation (62.5 kb). You can check the size of your image at the bottom of
the "JPEG Options" Window.
8.As a Last action just click "OK", and now your pic is READY.

Submitting an analog photograph

1.Put your photo in a scanner.
2.Open the related application (application of your scanner).
3.Set the resolution of the scanner to "150 DPI".
4.Scan your photo and save it wherever you like.
5.Open the scanned photo in "Adobe Photoshop".
6.Go to "Image" menu then go to "Mode" and make sure that "RGB Colors"
and "8 Bits/Channel" are ticked.
7.If your photo was SQUARE before, you just need to set the resolution to
300 * 300 and reduce it to 5 cm * 5 cm in "Image Size" window and then
save it as JPEG and be careful of the "SIZE LIMITATION" so choose the
highest acceptable quality.
8.If your photo was not SQUARE before, you should make it square by using
the "CROP TOOL" of Photoshop. (Just choose the crop tool and take it over
your image and select a suitable and acceptable square area of the pic.
Now do as No. 7 (set the resolution to 300 * 300 ...).

(BE SURE TO REMOVE THE TICK OF "CONSTRAIN PROPERTIES" IN IMAGE SIZE WINDOW BECAUSE WHEN IT IS ACTIVE YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO MAKE YOUR PHOTO SQURE)

Hey,

Thanks for the guide, but when I did it according to the way you mentioned, the photo became streched which is not acceptable, how can I change it to normal?

try this

you can take your picture as normal, perharps ''2x2'' scan it and use the most effective photo editing software around to resize it, format it or do wahtever you want to do to it. am talking of Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
its a cool software just try it you will see, i used it to resize, format and resave my sisters and brothers pictures for the DV lottery to 240x320 pixels and it worked perfectly. Good luck

But I guess I have to buy that software which I really don't want to. I would appreciate if you or any other friends here can provide a link to download a free version of it, something like rapidshare, etc.
