Next weekend, a new movie about an asylee will be released and it is titled the terminal. Hope this movie sheds the light on the issues related to asylees and the plight they experience as they try to seek refuge in this country.
 
Its not about an asylee..Asylee is granted asylum..In that movie, Tom hanks is seeking asylum but never gets it..The true story goes like this, a guy from eastern european country cannot go back to his country because of NO government so he tries to get an asylum in France..France denies him and he spends his life at Charles De Gaule Airport international zone.....he falls in love with an air hostess who sets things right...

Alright then.. I understand that asylee is one who already got an asylum but my point is that the movie describes the plights of those who undertake this process..
 
A more relevent film is what what shown on COURT-TV not too long ago. It is called Chasing Freedom and it chronicles the travails of an asylum applicant who entered the U.S. on fraudulent travel documents.

Do not underestimate the power of Tom Hanks and Steven Speilberg in making this a sensational movie that may alert people to the process of political asylum
