The relation between processing date on USCIS site and actual dates of approvals

The current date of approval for I 485 on USCIS web page is Feb 01, 2002. I was just curious how it actually works, there is some pattern that they post date that means 2-3 months (??) marked cases after this date are currently being approved. Any idea folks please.

My case is from Jan 02 and still nothing... so go figure. I called and they said wait until the processing time is 30 days after and call again.

Good to know I'm not alone. I called again and requested what they call a reference, which I was told I'll receive within 30 days.

Piyushind, my online message hasn't changed since Jan 2003 reflecting the 1FP, we did second also (no updates). No RFE either. How about you?
