the more u want

It seems like the 485 approval has a certain pattern.

1) The more u want it, the slower your approval.

2) The more your need for approval, the slower your approval.

3) The more you call IIO, the slower your approval.

4) The more you check AVM/online, the slower your approval.

5) The more time u spend on this forum, the slower your approval.

The last one is based on the fact that it looks like senior members take longer to get approval than members who just joined. The senior member posts have been very valuable. Thus the above comment is not meant to hurt anyone on this forum.
Just want to know your thoughts.

Matter of Relativity...

It is all relative.......

If U see somebody got approved with FEb 2002 RD...
then U are surely late........

The people like us who spend a lot of time on this forum, see all the approvals happening..
Most of the people who dont regularly reply to post, make sure that they put in the message of their approvals..

SO it makes the "senior" members look underpriviledged......

So...U decide When U want UR approval to come..
This will decide if U are going to be happier or not.

If U think U can get approval in 9-10 months...
and U dont get it until 14 months.......U will be sad.....

But if U plan for 14......then if U get it in 12...U will be happier.

Taking it from where asdasd left it,

The so called new comers are not actually new comers, but ring side watchers, who only post when they have a question, or an RFE, or any issue that they need clarification on, and mostly to post their approvals.

Where as we have been here since the begining trying to share our experiences and knowledge, so its not the number of posts, which determines when you get approved, but as asdasd correctly pointed out, it happens between 12 to 14 months, only when IIO's start processing that particular batch.

So technically someone may just have 1 post to his/her credit, but may have been surfing this site from even before old timers like me, found this site. now you decide who would be the old timer in that case???

;) :p :D

agree with what july16 and asdasd said..

but having been raised in a country like India, it is difficult not to be superstitious... wy do you think i have not created my id on rupnet.com..

because only the ones who are not on rupnet.com get approved while the number of waiters on rupnet stays constant..
thus if you created a record on rupnet --> INS is watching you

:D :D :D only kidding guys

July16 is absolutely correct.
It is more helpful to advice somone on their case. It helps lot.

Seabang comment on last line....

I think, seabang never prays god until he gets troubles.
( one of the "mean people" character.)

seabang....sorry for above comment....take it easy.

So Helpful..

This site is so helpful....

New Information from Different People Daily..

July16's case..give so much info abt what to do when things go wrong...

Recently.Bakshi....gave a lot of info about Unemployment Insurace....very helpful..

So....while waiting for GC...this site really helps to learn more about the entire process..

Also...some people just want to be pessimistic and scare anybody whom they can.......
But others like us.......get hold of them and throw them oftrack......

This group is a wonderful one......Probably we should have a alumni association of members on this site.....

There is absouletly no doubt the posts of senior memebers have been very helpful. We have all learnt a lot. In a process that defies all logic I am just throwing some trivia out there.

Ivar, I do pray daily. However how much people pray or when is probably not an indication of how "mean" they really are !!

Guys,

My GC process from PD to AD took 22 months (Oct'00-Aug'02) which I guess is fairly reasonable.

Until May'02 (after FP), I never visited (or realized depth of information here) this site till a friend of mine in California advised me.

I was a "ringside watcher" as July16 appropriately coined this term for first 15 days, mostly reading and trying to understand Habib's mails on this forum (besides other GC pertinent info.).

Habib's mails were the primary reason for my jumping in with a user-id and trying to reply to "it's" mails and senseless accusations.

Since then, it has been very very informative site. Most of my inputs here have really been based on what I learned here only (so I guess giving it back where it belongs).

This forum has also given the opportunity to let me learn a lot about a few things about life from folks here and also let my inside thoughts/learnings come out.

In summary, I enjoy this site for reasons besides GC.

A note:

I always used to read this quotation, I read in ToI some 8-9 years back and trying to explore its exact implication:

"Humor is emotional chaos recollected in tranquility"

I think, to a larger extent, the humor (dark one included) on this site has been a true manifestation of the answer I was looking for, for this quote.
