The logic of keeping AOS going while you consular process

Since I'm going to Mumbai (AC140) I'd filed the I-824 application to change over to CP. Now the INS has sent my lawyers the "intent to revoke" the AOS application. What I'm wondering is if I say that I want the AOS to continue, then what happens? Wouldn't it then be the equivalent of keeping the AOS going while doing CP (i.e., the same deal as if one had filed for CP all along and then also filed the 485)? Thoughts?

as per the INS regulations ...

as a primary applicant one can only continue either with CP or AOS not BOTH !!!

I am assuming u have just one I-140 approved ....

when u file for I-824 ... INS gets notified of ur intension of doing CP and hence will withdraw ur AOS application ....

for I-140 CP cases, ur file reaches NVC and if u decide to do AOS, then INS requests the file back from NVC or Consulate ... the latter can turn out to be a hell as INS will only act on ur case once the physical file is back to them (this can take a looooooooong time )!!!!!!!!

Don't mean to be rude pttx01, but why do something like that?

Either decide to go with AoS or go with CP.

People who try to beat the system make it slower for everyone else (numerous confirmation letters and whatnot).

Again, don't get offended. But the pros and cons of each approach are well known, how difficult is it to choose between them?
