The joke named 'BCIS' or "USCIS" or whatever you may want to call it

I called up the 800 BCIS number. After about 10 minutes of wait the "specialist" told me that now the estimated time for I485 processing has gone up to 26 months.

I mentioned to her that I have been calling since a year, and each time I call the anticipated processing time keeps on increasing. I mean just last month when I had called, another "specialist" told me that the anticipated time was 23 months.

I mean for crying out loud, the situation is getting progressively worse. This way when I call in December, I could most probably be told that the processing time for I485s has gone up to 35 months.

Did anybody else try calling BCIS or whatever? I was really hoping that they will start working after september end.

Please Please try to get more information about this...

Yup, my friend said that he was told that the processing time has been increased to 26 months

I think BCIS is deliberately padding their numbers. Why? My case was approved on 9/17 (RD 12/18/01), and I am from a Special Registration country. I believe they are telling us this so we do not inquire and they do not get pressure from congressmen.

Right now rupnet is showing movement in November/December 2001 cases. Once the new fiscal year starts, progress should be made. The only thing to watch is whether the annual special registration hampers anything.

Hmm.

This is absurd .... and USIS should be ashamed of its inability to process the 485 cases in time .....

They go on increasing the processing time when ever they want ....

I am paying the taxes, I am legal, I work and aid in providing my share to the Social Security, Medicare and Economy in general ...
But what I get in return ...? Dely Delay and NOTthing but Delay ... I am forced to work for the same company as a slave for elongated period and have no choice of choosing my career ... living with the mercy of my employer who plans a new cut each day ... Hmm ..... even third world countries work more faster than this super power ....

I think these people are deliberately delaying the approvals ...

Why can't we sue them just as the Refugees and the religious workers did? did anybody think in that angle ?

GCJHALAK,

Did you sign the petition from this web site? I think that's one way that we can put our complain in action. The squeacky wheel get the grease. That's so true in this country.
