The Interview -- how much advance notice?

Hi all,

Just wondering how in advance is the interview scheduled? Is it the sort of thing where you only have a few days notice, or will you have adequate time to prepare? I ask because I may be away from my residence at the time and will need time to come back and do my medical exam and such.

It used to be 4-6 weeks. However, now it seems that people are getting notifications (online) when Visa bulletins are released (at least 6 weeks before the interview date). For instance the visa bulletin for september 2011 has the numbers for October 2011, as well. And people received notifications for October (dv2012) in mid August. You should have sufficient time to prep for the interview, however, you might want to start preparing now.

btw, what is your Case Number?
 
That's a relief. I have all my documentation, just need to get vaccinations and make sure I'm in the country.
