I got a RFE for my co sponsors info and my I-693 but I cant get my medical done till 7/28 I am going to have the co sponsors stuff sent in this week since it was 2 seperate RFE's but I am wondering if this is going to cause a huge delay in my EAD?

yes it will cause delays. I thought you took care of the I-693 and sent it with your AOS application. What's wrong now?

no i sent the package without it and couldnt get in with the USCIS doc till 7/28 so we mailed everything w/o it and my bil is my co sponsor so we had to wait for him to get his BC and all his stuff to the lawyer which he has recently ...

It will cause a bit of a delay to expidite things make sure when responding to an RFE submit copies of your original Documents ( I-130/ I-485) also submit the RFEresponse return receipt, priority, express or Fedex.

Do not forget a copy of the RFE notice and include a brief cover letter describing what you are including and explain any delays ( example your medical appt. situation)

Best of luck

Seems that for the most part, you can add to your expected timeline the number of days from the issuing of the RFE, to THIER receipt notice date.

Poohsmum - I thot u had an immig attorney who was helping u file the docs - n u got the application thru only in ur third attempt. Wut gud is tht attorney if u still got an RFE. Ne way - how much delay will the RFE cause seems to differ frm case to case. Payala's case I remember didnt get much affected, but Patty's case did. As for the EAD - like Patty u mite go to ur DO n try getting an iEAD after a couple of weeks of USCIS receiving ur response to RfE.

Good Luck

Poohsmum, why do you have to wait for your medical until 7/28? Have you looked up other civil surgeons? Usually you can just call one up and get an appointment the next day or in the next week.

It would be good if you could do it sooner, because apparently it does matter for your EAD timeline.
You can compare your case to our RFE cases here:

If you can't get it done earlier, don't be too worried. It will all work out eventually. I could get an iEAD after 92 days after my original EAD ND. There is still hope! :)

Good luck! :)

Patty

Montana only has 17 USCIS docs in the whole state of montana and only 5 that are within a 200 mile area from us and july 28th was the soonest,
there are 2 USCIS docs here in great falls (where I live) but they are for military only ..I am going to call everyday or every other day and see if I can get squeezed in sooner or if someone cancells I guess I will have to wait and see :(

a_usc: Yes I have a attorney but since my co sponsor didnt have his BC yet and had to search from his taxes and with the doctor having the medical so far out we filed w/o both
