I entered US as F1 student for PhD program, graduated in 2004, and took OPT. I changed my status to J1 while in OPT for 3 years postdoc program in the same university (got INS approval until mid 2008). I do have 2 years residence requirement based on "The Exchange Visitor Skill List". What are my changes to apply for the J1 waiver right now (after 6 months in the program)? do you thing is still too early?
