thanks a lot for your prompt reply and suggestions, they were really re assuring.
1.i applied for my H1 premium processing (in the hope it speeds up the waiver) does it help.can H1 be approved even wtihout waiver approval
2.my wife has cleared her Step 3, should i apply for her regular H1 now or premium processing , ideally she has to start from 1st July,2003
3.anything i can do right now

ur welcome.If u have applied for premium process for H then u should get it approved soon Yes one can get H approved even before BCIS approved the waiver these r 2 different petitions.just wait for ur H approval u will be fine and ur spouse should be ok

My H-1 was approved before J-1 waiver approval by INS. It was 5 years ago though.

Your wife should apply for H-1B ASAP. Avoid J-1 for her, as she will need to get her own waiver down the road, and will create major obstacle on the way to Green Card.
