THANKS RAJIV
HI RAJIV,

I SINCERELY HOPE THAT OUR EFFORTS BEAR SOME FRUIT AND ATLEAST ALL THE CASES IN BACKLOG ARE COVERED.

MY PERSONAL SITUATION IS SINCE APRIL 2001 I AM IN THE GC PROCESS. ME AND MY WIFE HAVE MISSED OUT ON EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND WE HAVE PRACTICALLY NO BENEFITS.

IF THE CURRENT TIMEFRAMES ARE ANY INDICATIONS IT WILL PROBABLY BE MAY 2005 WHEN I WILL GET MY GC. I BOUGHT A HOUSE AND WORKING ON EAD. SO I AM VIRTUALLY ON THE EDGE.

I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE PURPOSE OF SUCH A DELAY. WHY ARE THEY NOT APPROVING 485 IMMEDIATELY AFTER 140 IS AGREAT MYSTERY, SINCE NOW 140 ITSELF TAKES >1 YEAR AND THE FP IS ALREADY DONE.

IT IS HERE I FEEL THE INDIAN COMMUNITY AND LEADERSHIP WHO ARE THE FIGUREHEADS OF VARIOUS ORG, VYING TO GET PUBLICITY
SHOULD BE A STRONG SUPPORTER. THE HISPANICS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET EVEN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS A VOICE BECAUSE OF THEIR STRONG LEADERSHIP.

I STRONGLY DESIRE THAT THE 485 TIMES SHOULD NOW BE EXPEDIATED. WE AS TAX PAYER AT LEAST DESERVE THIS.

THANKS AGAIN

DOM2004,
What you have said is all right.
I am also in the GC process since May 2001. I had a three years plus project and expected that by end of that, I would be in a reasonably good situation.
However, my employer has the worst posible criminal mentality. My 140 filing was delayed by 2 months and finally filed in June 2003.
140 is still pending and my employer has run into huge labor related issues with state of NJ. I am very qualified, have more than 15 years experience, have paid more than 40K in taxes to US government every year for last 3 years, yet when it comes to 140, I do not find any way to move it.
My employer is forcing me into another project for his own benefits, which I would not do, as that does not match my skill sets at all and I am not willing to leave my high demand skill sets.
I got many opportunities and still have many where I can easily make more than 150 K but I have to let them pass by me due to my status. I keep on getting calls from recuiters and am sick of telling them that I can not make it due to pending 140.
And my attorney told me 2 days back that the 140 would be most likely rejected due to labot issues of my employer with the NJ state.
I filed backup GC few months back with another employer but do not have the endurance to bear the pains again.
All this because of the hopeless and clueless working of USCIS.
It is very frustrating and hopeless situation.
Can anyone suggest what should I do? Continue with current 140 and run into risks later due to labor cases on employer or join the new employer who has filed my backup GC?
My earlier employer would not support 140 if I would leave them.
