First off, I would like to thank everyone contributing to this forum, it is a really big help.
Second, I decided to ask the question because there is a lot of info flowing in the forum and I could not find my answers. I am on an F1 visa which expired two years ago but I have been doing my masters degree and my I-20 was still valid so I did not have a problem. Now I am on OPT which I have been working for the last 6 months until my project recently ended and now I am jobless for the last month. I got married to a United States citizen and am now in the process to file all those forms to apply for a Greencard. Can anyone simplify which type of forms I need to file? I also intend to travel back home ( have not been back for the last 3 years) and I think I need to file a forum for travel at the same time. Would the traveling be an issue in the interview? How long does it usually take to be asked for an interview? What is my legal status once I file the form and would this affect my grace period for the OPT?
