My mother is now here in US on a IV (GC). Thanks to all who have assisted me by answering my queries and guiding me. I have 2 questions (final, I promise) about the GC.
1. My mother came to US last month, but has a need to travel to Ireland for about 3 months in December. I know this is not a good time since she just came here and all, but believe me, we cannot change that plan. My question is, she has not received her GC yet, but her visa says the visa can be a temporary GC (I-551) once it is endorsed. What is that endorsement ?. Is it just the stamp that is stamped by the immigration officer in US ?. Or do I have to go to the ICE office and get an endorsement ?.
2. Where will the I-551 (GC) be mailed ?. To the US address they have on record ?. Or to the address my mother gave when she entered the country ?. I am concerned as she was asked my address in US, she gave the officer the incorrect phone #, the office called and got an address (don't ask me how), and noted the address.......should I request a I-551 separately ?. Or am I worried unnecessarily.
