Greetings,

I applied in Feb 2008, have cleared finger printing in April 2008. Now waiting for interview in Houston Texas. How much time will it take? Anyone knows if I can call FBI and ask about my background check status? My records are all clean and don't a single traffic ticket. USCIS website is broken and status information is not accurate. I called them and they were no help in giving me some idea on the waiting period.

Can any Texas or other states Senator help expedite N400 processing time? Any other suggestion?

Thanks.

Get a info pass, go there and ask for the status. If it's FBI namechaeck is pending then they'll let you know. Also, write your congressional members for the case status inquiry and you would get the reason for hold up after 2-3 months or so. If your record is clean; it means NOT necessarily that you would not stuck in namecheck....

Greetings,

Remeber, the "Name Check" is a complicated process itself. Just becasue you have a clean background and histrory, it does not mean your name check is going to be fast and speedy. There are many reasons that could causing delays. Few exxamples here: someone with similar name as yours (include sound alike) could trick more request from specific agency to verify and/validate the results; other interests by specific agency taht you may not know; etc. From your timeline, you are not out of ordinary yet. So, just relax and enjoy yout normal life from the time being.....

Thanks for replying. I have few questions:

What is info pass? where can I get it? I called USCIS and asked them, they said my case is pending in FBI background check.
Where can I names get and write congressional members in Houston?

I could find 2 senators for texas rest of them are representatives:

Will email work? or a registered letter is better? I am impatient because of some my work related reasons. And I am trying to get it before election.
