Termination - Kids at school - Options to prolong stay at school?

New Member
L1-holder got laid-off as per end of September 2007. L1 is valid until 2009.
Will start new job outside the US at the end of 2007 (this is also outside home country and I can't move to new place right away ==> Visa application ongoing). I do not work until we leave the US for good.
Would like to (a) avoid moving household twice and (b) avoid sending kids to 2 different schools within a few weeks. They currently go to school in US.

We are citizens of a country under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

What options do we have to legally stay in the US until end 2007 and to have kids go to (private) school here?

Should we enter under the VWP already or still under the L-1/L-2 in July 2007 when returning to US from travel abroad?
