Teporary change of location for work with H1B

I am currently working in Texas and for 1 month I want to work in Baltimore. My company Lawyer says This cannot be done 'cos my H1b is specific to Texas.. and I cannot work more that 50 miles away from this location!!! They can file for a change of location for Baltimore but then they will have to file another one for coming back to Texas and since its only for a month they don't want to do it! :mad:

I have a feeling there should be another way.I am wondering how do people do consultancy where every few months they move!!! Since I am still working with the same company and its a temporary assignment.. can't I go on the same H1b???? :confused:

H1b visa is Employer specific not State specific. As per what I know you have to change of address in this case but since it is not your permanent move it is ok that you don't have to file the change of address.

You might check with someone in the office of Mr. Rajiv Khanna and they can surely help about this.
