Hi Friends,

I got my H1B a few days back.I got an offer as a teacher in a school in NC.They are ready to sponcer me a H-1 from their school. But they are doubtful whether this kind of transfer is accepted.Right now i hold the H-1 from my sister's company(s/w consulting).

so
1) would it be a problem to work thru the same company?
2)do I realy have to transfer my H1?
3)what are the chances of approval of this kind of transfer if alt all this is possible?
4)what would be the best move?

thanks,

1. Yes, if your H1 thru your sister's company is for s/w then you can do only s/w related jobs on this H1.
2. You need to get a new H1 filed by the school and after getting the receipt you can start working for them.
3. To teach in US I believe you need to clear some exams. If your school is OK with your qualifications and they are willing to sponsor, and of course if they have put ads for local staff and could not get them, then it is possible
4. Well, asking the School to sponsor you is the best move. You cannot work on your current H1, thats for sure.
