Tax Transcripts Questions : Advice Please

There are a couple of things i need to tell you all and get advice on.
Please help.

Yesterday, I called 1-800-829-1040 and asked them to send me the tax return transcripts. I forgot to tell them to send me both the Fed as well as State. Will i get both or will it be only Fed returns. How do i get the transcripts for State?

The person could only find Tax return from 2005 to 2007 (3 yrs). I wanted from 2004 to 2007. She tried using my SSN / Wifes SSN but could not find Tax returns on our name. ?? Why ?? I know i filed them.

For 2008 i have not filed my tax returns yet. My interview is on March 30. Do i have to worry about filing this and getting a transcript or i can just show the W2 and my latest (last 3-4 pay stubs) and that should suffice.

Please advice

will Sound foolish, but working for a big company (like IBM / HP/ MS ) have any impact on this tax return discrepency ( I work for one of this company full time).
 
I think you only need the Fed retruns...not even sure if IRS can provide you with State as they may be state specific but I'm not entire sure on that.

The IRS can only give you transcripts for 3 years at a time. I called them to get it for the first 3 and then filled in a a form from the IRS website and faxed it to them to get the rest...all of them are free. hope this helps.
 
Like dxbkid said you can only get 3 years at a time and then fax them a request.

As far as the returns for 2008. since the last date to file taxes is April 15, you can not get an IRS transcript now. So you are better off just bringing your copies of the return and your W2s to the interview. They most likely will not even ask for 2008.

I had my interview on 3/10/2009. Officer asked me if I filed taxes every year and do I owe any money to the Government. I showed her last 4 years Transcripts (you can request last 4 years in one form, I requested 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007). I also told her I did not file the current year and offered her my W2. She said 2007 Transcript is fine and did not take any more documents.
