Tax transcripts for state.

Do we need provide state transcripts also?

Does original IRS form 1722 lists state tax also? If not, is it necessary to obtain state transcripts also?

I went to state tax office testerday, they have no clue what the form 1722 is.

I am probably a big exception on this forum, but I don't think you need to provide any tax transcripts of any kind, federal, state, or local. In the Fairfax, VA DO, it has not been general practice that the IOs ask for any of this. But you may want to check the experiences of people who have passed the interview at your DO.

You have to provide transcripts if you made long trips outside US (check out N-400 instructions. Some are asked at interview time to provide transcripts.

IRS forms are only for Federal. Each state has different way of doing this. For example in NC, there are no forms. I had to write to Dept of Revenue asking for copies and they sent it promptly. Check out your state revenue dept website.

It is always a good idea to carry the tax transcripts even if they are not asking during the interview.

Also - I am not sure we need to get the state tax transcripts as well. I think only federal would be sufficient.

I seriously doubt the Federal Government cares about State Taxes. I would not bother with the State ones. Since the transcripts are free, if I were you I would order them and take them along. It costs you nothing and if asked it could prevent delays providing extra documentation.
