There is no double taxation. Since Canadian taxes are more than US you pay all your Federal and States taxes as normal and then compute your canadian tax. Since that is higher than the US you just pay the difference to CCRA.
Obviously the computing of tax would be as per the rules of the respective agencies. Therefore you would get no deduction for contributions to 401k in Canada.
