Well at the moment my mother and I are just waiting for our interviews. I figured it would be wise to put all the papers together for the interview. There's a slight problem when it comes to tax returns though. My step father filed "married filed seperetly" for the last 3 years. I think the first two won't be an issue since my mom didn't even work those first 2 years so she didn't do a tax return. Now she has worked this year and we're going to file her tax return soon, but my step dad already filed his. We want to file seperatly though because if we do the state will take the return since my dad owes make child support if we file jointly. Would that be a problem? And would the back child support thing be a problem too? They have a joint bank account but have not used it at all during these 2 years since the state has a lien on any bank account my step dad opens. Would it be a good idea to bring the zero balance joint back account with a letter from the state that they've had a lien on his account? Or would it be better just to not bring it at all?
