So my husband just graduated last May so his W2 for 2005 doesn't really show how much he currently makes. In the same way, all his income before then came just from his work-study job and summer internships and that is what is shown in his past tax returns. He already askef for a letter from his company stating how much he makes and what position he holds there and we're also gonna attach his contract. I was wondering if we would still have to send copies of his tax returns, even though those have nothing to do with his current real income.

Tax return is to know that he paid the taxes to the IRS and some other information that they check on it. For current salary your husband must send his paystubs and employment letter. Are you filing?

Cherr is correct. Just make sure you have a letter from the current employer and paystubs for last 3 months (I took 6 months paystub with me). In my case, my wife had very little income (internship etc.) so I co-sponsored myself and it worked out fine. If your husband is applying for you, you may want to look into cosponsoring yourself if you have enough income.

Oh OK. I thought that we only needed to submit his tax returns as proof of his income. Do I need to submit my tax returns too? Yep, we're kinda ready to file. I mean, we were considering hiring a lawyer but I think we can do this ourselves.
thanks so much!

The forms I 864 and I 864A requires only the last paystub. Why do we need to send the employer letter and te last 3 or 6 pay stubs.?

Can any1 confirm that we have to send the last pay stub only and we dont need to send the employment letter or last 3/ 6 pay stubs?

I am just about to file....

taskap, you just send the the information that they ask for. Is the last paystubs that complete a monthly payment (if he is got paid bi-weekly or monthly), but it states that the sponsor must send the employment letter, actually on the form I-864 indicates what info the letter must address, and the last tax return.
Review the instructions of form I-864.
Good luck,

I see the I 864

Evidence of current employment or self-employment,
such as a recent pay statement,
or
a statement from your
employer on business stationery, showing beginning
date of employment, type of work performed, and salary
or wages paid. You must also provide evidence of
current employment for any person whose income is
used to qualify.

The OR suggests that I can send either ONE of it.
Can some1 please confirm?
I dont want to wait another week, getting these statements.
