tax returns or tax transcript

i'm not sure whether to send tax returns copy or request tax transcript?
for n400...

i have been reading old threads and mostly recommend to send transcript... so i'm not sure what is the best thing to do :confused:

You DO NOT have to send any tax records with N400. People carry it while going to interview and show ONLY if asked. Please do not send or show what is not asked. Never in the instructions it is mentioned to send them in. I read the instructions thoroughly and what you read in old thread may be for old applications and maybe they asked then.

majority of the folks here said to send tax returns along with n400 paper here is the thread

Except for one person, no one asked you to send tax returns WITH N400. The person who told is for marriage based GC? Is your 3 year marriage based GC or 5 year PR based GC? If it is marriage based GC, sorry I do not know the requirements. What I mentioned and know for sure if for 5 year based GC. Please use the instructions on the form as a final guiding information for you. I always go to forums, and Internet for information, but use the USCIS website as a final piece of confirmation.

mine is 3 year marriage based GC

this thread is for tax or transcript and the other thread is sending tax with N400.

apologize if i break the rules of this forum.
