We got our Green Card (family based) 3 years ago. We were outside the country for nearly 2 years with a re-entry permit. In the meanwhile, we have been filing income tax returns, since the last 3 years, as dependents on my Son-In-Law and Daughter's tax returns.
We are currently in the US, and would need to travel for about 7 months to India to wind up some financial affairs. My question is, can we submit my Son-In-Laws' and Daughter's Income Tax returns (wherein we're filed as resident dependents) as proof of income tax returns filing?
