Hi Guys,

I filed the tax returns(Both Federal and State) for the year 2000 electronically. But i just realized that i don't have the forms 1040 , i might have forgotten to take a print out. All i have is Form 8453-OL that says "U.S. Individual Income Tax Declaration for an IRS e-file On-Line Return" that states my federal return. I also talked to IRS who are going to send me the transcripts of tax return for the year 2000.
My question to the gurus is do i need 1040 forms to show my tax return or whatever i have is sufficient?
I am RD Dec2001 filer and wanted to keep myself prepared for RFE. Please throw some light on this issue.

Thanks in advance

you can obtain a copies of all filed 1040
from IRS, go to their web site and download a form and mail to them.

the bad news is that the process may take 2 months...

or you can try to get it from local IRS office...

My Friend had a similar situation. He filed a request for the duplicate copies. They were received in about a month or so in Feb 2003.

Hope this helps.
