Hi

I have a typical tax question:

I have moved to NJ to take up a contract but my comany is located in CA. For 98 and 99 my W-2 has company\'s CA address and my company accountant prepared my taxes with CA address and filed in CA, though I am living in NJ. This was done because company doesn\'t know how long the contracts get extended but somehow they got extended for me. 2000 taxes are paid in NJ properly.

Now I have to appear for my interview and they asked for the last three year tax returns along with the other satndard forms (standard format from Newark).

How can I defend addresses on my W-2 (CA\'s) though I live in NJ.

Please give some suggestions.

take an attorney for interview

Just my opinion:
As you know there is no easy way to explain what you just wrote. But i guess they may not scrutinize your tax returns. They may jusy look at them to see whether you paid taxes atall. Also hire an attorney for interview and take their advise.
Good luck

I don\'t thing it is important...

Well, what is important is to make sure that you have been a good resident and you have paid taxes. It is not important where! Of course, you need to see a lawyer, too.
