Tax filing - DV Green Card holder

Hi,

I'm a green card holder (DV 2007) i'm came to USA in Oct 07.
and I got job in March 2008.
oct 07 to feb 08 I'm haven't earn any single penny. this 4 month I stuied SAS Language and sat for the certification.

now i'm planning to file tax return for 2008. pls. any one tell me do I need to fille tax return for 2007 (Oct 07 to Dec 07).

Kumar, if you had your SSN back in 2007 then it would be advisable to file for the 2007 tax. It will be simple for you. Use 1040 EZ form and enter 0.00

yes -just use that form and write evrywhere 0 except the minimum non taxable amount alowed by law -its around 8000 dollars i think -that amount is actualy writen in the form already -somewhere in the middle of the form -be shure to state 0 before it and after it and that its -your tax retunr is important if you planing to appplay for the citizenship
