RD 19 Jan 2001.
Talked to a nice decent lady . Verified the address and when I asked her about case details she said that it was kind of early as they were still processing September 30 cases .

me too

I also called at 3.15 and spoke to a gentlemen named Douglas.
He said the Jan02 cases might be attended to sometimes in March 2003. And if transfered or RFE, could extend upto May 2003.
That's harassment and nonsense.

unfortunately not.

unfortunately that's reality.
today is November 15th. and we still have a lot of September and even some August people around.
plus . . . VSC did slow down A LOT duing last month.
Now think about all the holidays . . .
dude . . . don't get me wrong. i'm not trying to bring you down or anything . . . just realistic dates . . . helps plan your life better.
i have september 6th RD. i knew 6 months ago i needed to travel in December. I was so sure i'll get GC before that time that i didn't bother with AP. Now there are some dudes who say that Boston field office no longer issues APs on the same day. If this is true i'm really screwed. Tickets are not refundable.
So . . . i think you should thank that IIO for at least giving you honesty you deserve, not some bullcrap that is going to screw up all your plans later.

Some INS staff put on 'administrative' leave

About 6-8 INS employees in New Jersey and NY have been put on 'Administrative leave' for having approved several Jordanian men with terrorist backgrounds. No wonder that the INS is being extra cautious. Better safe than sorry...Also with the break-up on INS things can only go bad to worse till the next 12-18 months when the re-org is complete. My RD is 05/24/02.. loong wait.

Re: me too

dr hangup, if you still do not have AP, you should go to the boston office right away and at least file for the AP. There was a recent post about virginia office taking walk-in AP application and processing AP within a week...

With a name like that it is good to see you defend the IIO's who are just doing their job (part of the job is answering queries). However, coming to think of it , if we do not call them everytime for minor queries and self comfort , they would find more time to work on cases that may help all of us .
