Talked to IIO (Debbie) an hour ago at VSC

ME: Would like to know the status of my case?
IIO: What is your case no.?
Me: EAC-00-xxy-abcd
IIO: It is with us. (also confirms my address)
Me: When can I expect FP notice?
IIO: (Checks something) Atleast 6 months because we are processing Sep 1 cases.
Me: Is my case with VSC (I wanted to be sure) and is there any plan to move it to a Local Service Center.?
IIO: It is with VSC and will not be transferred unless there is an interview (or something else) scheduled

I called up because of that posting by GCBoy1.

This is the first time i ever called up an IIO and I was expecting a monster on the other end based on the discussions on this board. It turned out to be very nice chat.
  
Could be VSC is hiding something but we got to be optimistic.
I did not ask Debbie about cases after May 2000 getting FP notices. It does not concern me. Let the post April 2000 people have their luck. Why build a palace on someone else\'s tomb?

It doesn\'t make much sense that RD/ND in Feb 2000 has to wait for 6 months to get FP. The IIO says they are processing sep 1 cases for approval, so does she mean 6
months for I-485 approval? in that sense they have to send FP soon.

any thoughts ?

I thought about the same thing when I talked to her but then my only concern was transfer to local center as claimed by others.
