As per IIO, my case is pending. I asked her that my fingerprinting will expire next week, she said I will her something soon.

When my lawyers had called them, they were informed that the file has been assigned to an officer. How come the IIO could not say that? Strange how Government offices work.

Finger printing expiry...question

FP expires after 15 months from the date they recieved or the date we gave our FP????
I gave my FP on 5 feb'02 but INS received results on 20th FEB. So my FP will expire on 5th may or 20th may??????
Pls respond.

Thanks

what I don't understand is that my lawyer said with affirmation that my case has been assigned to an officer, whereas the IIO only said its pending. Why couldn't the IIO confirm that? Are they not allowed to?

I think it depends on who you get when you call. Your attorney probably spoke to some one who was willing to give that information. When I had called last week I was just told that my case was in line.

Luckily, my law firm being really big apparently gets information that usually appicants dont get. But it just pissed me off that the lady couldn't give me more info. Also this was the first time I called the INS. Hopefully I won't call them again.

I can understand your frustration. I felt the same way when I called. Did they say anything at all as to wehn you can expect to get the notice to do your fingerprints again? and how long it might take to approver after that?

I guess one positive thing after this whole re-fingerprinting fiasco is tha you know that some one has looked at your file.....

Well! after I told her that my fingerprinting are expiring soon, she put me on hold for 2 to 3 second and then said, "you should be hearing something soon." What the hell that means?

My lawyers had confirmed back on April 10th that the file has been picked up the an officer. My lawyers are very anal about giving the out wrong information, so when they tell me something then it is defintaley true. Hopefully, i won't be required to fingerprinting again.

I am in the same boat as well. But my FP expire in about 3 weeks. I think I might try and ask my attorney to call next time
