Talked To FBI Regarding Their Role in FP Process

Guys,

I do not want to spend days trying to find out the quality
of my FP from the INS. The FBI will *not* tell you if the quality
is good or bad.

According to the FBI my FP were sent to INS on 10/10/01 and the
INS AVM says "On Oct 13th FP were received and are pending review".
This confused me.
I talked to the FBI and they said that their role has now ended,
they have told the INS whether I have a criminal record or not and
they won\'t do anything else regarding my case.

Does anyone have any information to contradict this?

If not, then I believe the AVM message indicates my FP quality is
good. The AVM message is misleading as it implies that the FP are under
review, but the FP have already been reviewed by the FBI
but my entire case is now pending review.

Hi Bongo,
 The message could also mean that the INS has to take a look at the results of the FP and then approve it.
 I think the FP is of good quality , it is just that the INS has to take a look at it.

Yes, I wanted to know if other people who have gotten
through to the INS can clarify that the AVM message
means what I think it means.

If it is, then those guys who got FP notices after 10/01
can just relax and wait for the AVM message to change,
rather than trying to contact INS.
 
Bongo - Problem is we do not know yet what will be AVM when FP quality is not good!!

After lot of trouble, I was able to get through once earlier - but still IIO was not able to tell me whther FP quality is good (It was 7 days after INS had received FP but may be that\'s not enough for INS - becoz generally IIO is able to confirm the good quality as per many postings on this Board).

Problem with FBI responsibility is that when FP quality is not good, they will not be able to confirm your \'no crime\' record to INS (Do criminals leave FP so carefully as we did in ASC!!!) and then INS will take its own sweet time to send notice for re-do ---
 
Question on the AVM update after FP

Hi Bongo/Bhagwan:

I did my FP on 10/17/01 and the AVM is not updated yet on the FP receipt at INS. It still says the FP Notice has been mailed on October 3rd......

When I checked with FBI , they say the result has been sent electronically to INS on 10/18.

How long did it take for you guys to hear the updated message on the AVM after the FP..
 
It took my case about 3 days.

I did FP early on 10/09 and AVM says on 10/13/01 we received
your FP.

Wife did it on 10/10 and AVM says on 10/15/01 we received your FP.

I did my FP on the same day as you (10/09) @ SJ ASC, BUT the
AVM still says "...it will take 995-999 days...". My wife
did hers on 10/23 and same thing. What does that mean?? It
doesn\'t even say that FP has been mailed out to you... Did
they not receive my FP results from FBI. FBI says they sent it
on the same day.

BTW, both of us did our FP ahead of schedule.

I did FP on 10/13 - AVM updated on 10/17 -it now says FP collected on 10/17, pending review.

If anyone talks to IIO regarding this, please update the Board.
