I just called FBI & asked them about my FP code 1 (10/14/05) status. They said it was received from ASC on 10/14/05 & FBI responded to USCIS the same day which is 10/14/05. Therefore all this talking about FP & background clearance takes long time I don't thing that's right. Now if you say what USCIS does after receiving the clearance report?? That's still a mystry.
Well, atleast I feel good that USCIS already received that by now & if the officer who is assigned to process my case is kind enough to do it quickly I'll be more than happy. If any one would like to call that FBI number please feel free to ask me & I'll be more than happy to pass it on to you. FBI over the phone was really nice. She asked me my A# & full name. She (FBI) told me seems like you been to FP"S several times. I didn't know what to say so just smiled & replied YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THAT. And I didn't say this but feel like saying who knows that day may come when ASC (Application Support Center) officers will probably know me by my name    . It will be like hey Atique, How's it going ? Good to see you man (sarcastic) :D :D :D :D :D :D

Atique, Post the number so i can put in the FAQ. Also put your timeline in your signature..I keep on forgetting what is your Notice Date..and your history(RFE etc)...Create a signature NOW!!!

And FP clearance means you are not a criminal. Background investigation is totally different and is another step. Its called NAME check....Your FP's are clear but they still have to check your NAME/DOB/BIRTH COUNTRY matches anyone in the CIA/FBI/NSA/HOMEland security's List...Then you are clear..
The reason it takes long is maybe there are 1000 Atique Rahman's and they need to check if someone is not living with 2 identies for example....Just thinking out loud..I dont know the process they follow though.

I know for a fact that if your name is common like DAVID SMITH..then it takes longer for you...Read Below:

IBIS (Interagency Border Inspection Systems) and FBI name checks

IBIS checks provide USCIS with information on any wants and warrants as well as information on known terrorists. These checks are run before adjudicating any petition or application. In case of a “hit” in IBIS, the center checks with the agency that keyed in the original data before adjudicating the application or petition. Before adjudicating adjustment of status applications fingerprint checks are done. The fingerprint checks give criminal histories but not wants or warrants.

On the other hand the FBI name check indicates whether a person currently is or has ever been investigated by any of more than a dozen agencies. In case of a “hit” in a name check, the FBI does not tell USCIS what specific information has been found in the FBI database, and USCIS on the other hand must wait for the FBI to resolve the “hit”. If the name checks are returned with “no information,” USCIS periodically reviews the checks on a set schedule. If the record is listed as “pending”, District Offices are not authorized to follow up with the FBI, and they forward a list of these records to USCIS HQ, who then follows up with the FBI. These copies are not retained by the FBI on any check it runs, hence, every time a name check is needed, the foreign national has to go through the same process again.

If name check really takes all this time how people get approved within a month after their FP code 1 ( previously done RFI,code 2)? I have lot of people in this forum who's cases got approved just within a month.
You know what? In USCIS there ain't no telling. Anything is possible as I always said in my earlier posts. It's not like you are flying from Dallas to N.Y & approximately it's 3 & a half hours flight but it may take may be 4 hours but not more than that. But as far as I could talk our processing time no one knows ?????????????
You know now when I see all those approval with timeline close to me even on later dates it don't tempt me relating that to my case cause our approval is kind of like playing lottery. You'll ask how?? So many people buy but few people wins. It's like few people are really lucky regardless ND/RD, BIO what ever you name it that's no big deal they'll get it done quickly & for others just keep faith on GOD MAY BE you are next. Well, hope that's all I got.
Just hope for the best & pray to allmighty GOD so that our IO is kind enough to treat us as human being & help us see the sunshine.
Frankly speaking ND, RD, BIO, RFI, RFE,background check, name check what more other things you want to name, nothing really matters. If you are lucky you will get it soon if not like me & you who will just keep reading other's approval posts @ get frustrated ( ofcourse I feel good when one get approved you know what I mean) thinking what's wrong with us who applied 2000/2001 but still living in dark. No explanation !!!!!!!!
Anyway I wish you good luck & I also pray from the bottom of my heart that we all can reach the destination as we anticipated.
Best wishes.
Atique.

Want,

I noticed that your FP is on Nov 19. Funny, we had the BIO around the same time (and at the same place). Anyway, I am planning to go to Richmond Highway tomorrow and see if I can have it completed tomorrow. I will let you know I succeed.
