Rarely we\'re seeing I-485 RFEs. What makes an IIO to ask for an I-485 RFE ? Why employment letter and paystubs ?

RFEs on 485

can any one please answer roughly what percentage of 485 applicants get RFEs and what kind.( like employer letter, paystubs etc.,)

50% get RFE....10% get transferred...and 40%...smooth sailing....

RFE can be for anything almost....

from simple things like employment letter, W-2, paystubs(most common)....to strange things like school leaving certificates from home country in English......

RFE chances

One of the main chance of RFE is if you change your jobs during your H-1 period. If you are with the same employer from the begining 70% of your RFE is out of question. They don\'t like changing the employer. Secondly if you did not attach their required documents with 485.

How Do they know that you changed Jobs?

Does INS has to be informed When one changes Job?
Also RFE can be issued even if you stay with the same employer.
They would like to check your status in Job by asking for Pay Stubs and Current Employment Letter.
