Talk to IIO at VSC around 3pm today. Got connected on 3rd try.
ME:need to check on my I-485 case.
IIO:male, verify my name and DOB. then says did you do your FP.
ME: YES did on 10/26/99 FBI told me they send to NSC .
IIO: OK let me check Electronically. In 30sec he verify YES and told me
my FP are OK and says we have started approving 4/1/00 week cases
and the way we are going finishing 2week backlog in 1 week we will be getting to your case in the end of MAY. Your file looks good and every thing is in order and ready to be approved. He also said you are from Pakistan so you are current. Then he said i know its a long wait for you but you are almost there now and will be hearing the good news very soon.
If you dont get any thing in 30-60 days then better call us again to find out whats the problem because i dont see any problem with your file.
ME: Can you check on my EAD extension also applied 1 month back. my current EAD expires on 7/01.
IIO:sure give me a second YES your EAD get approved on MAY 1st and once we input the data it will go to KENTUCKY where they will made the card and you will get it in i guess about 2 weeks. But i dont think you will need this card your I-485 approval will come earlier then your current EAD expired.So just hang in there.
ME: Thank you very much and you just made my day.
IIO: Tahnk you too.
this IIO was so nice and knowledgeable that i dont believe it. He went through my case in such a detail that looks like he is the approver.
I hope he is right and we all should hear good news soon.
My take on this is that VSC is moving in TOP speed now and who ever is current will start seeing approval soon. It looks like they are clearing
99 & 2000 cases at the same time.
I am in this country since 1983 studying and working never out of status, left USA for 4 yrs but then come back again. My friends who are with me in 1983 have US passports and even got there parents here too. I think its about time for me to get this GC and then leave USA.
