Is it a totally new job in India -- or is it more like you are sent to India on some assignment from your present US job ?
If its something that's totally in India, you are going to have trouble maintaining your GC.
Contrary to popular belief, making a trip to the US once a year is
NOT sufficient to keep your GC valid.
You need to exhibit strong ties to the US - like a home, credit cards and all signs that your residence is here and you will be back.
Plus long absences will cause problems if you ever want to take US Citizenship.
On the other hand, if you are sent to India on assignment, then it may become acceptable to be away for longer duration - again you still need to show evidence of maintaining ties here.
