Taking for 570-600 days to process I-485 ?!

This is what I can't understand:

NSC now states that they are processing I-485 cases from Jun 2005. This looks good on paper.

However, if you follow up on the status of your I-485 case, USCIS states that the this type of case takes 570-600 days for processing.

If the latter is true, then even if cut-off dates advance now, I am afraid that the visa numbers will be unavailable again by the time USCIS reaches our I-485 application.

If you look at I-130 case, they say it takes 999 day!!
