taking chance for 2nd FP at Detroit

I have received mt 2nd FP notice scheduled for 06/17 and for my wife on 06/29. I am planning to take a chance to have it earlier. From the post, I find they do not normally entertain preponement at Detroit. Still, what am I going to lose just by trying?

I would like to know what day and time of week will be good? Are they open on Wednesday?

I would appreciate suggestions/experiences.

Yes, I did my FP earlier than the scheduled date. I just walked in one Friday afternoon. There was no problem. They entertained.

Anybody done FP earlier from St. Louis USCIS. My FP appt. date is Jul 30 2004 and I am thinking of doing it early. What day should I go, if I go earlier than the appt. date.

Yes, they asked the reason. I said that I will be out of town on that day. They did not bother much.

Today (06/18/2004) i did my second Finger printing today at Detriot . For my wife the scheduled date is 07/01/2004. But when we went and we just shown the Notice, they just completed the process as if it scheduled for today. They did not even asked any questions.

I did FP at St Louis 2 months ago. They had no problem to allow to do FP earlier. My experience is less waiting time in the morning.

I did my FP at St Louis a month earlier than the scheduled date. They had no problem on me. I asked the FP officer at ST Louis if we need to follow the scheduled date and the answer was "The date is only a guildline for the applicant and you can come anytime you want". May be different officer will tell you different thing. I have heard that people got denied for doing FP early when the office was busy (NOT at St Louis). You can call them in advance if you really want to be sure. ST Louis BCIS phone # can be found at USCIS homepage. Just asked to talk to the FP department. I went there on Wednesday morning 9:30am and there were only two people ahead of me. However, when we left at around 10:00, there were at least 5 people waiting.

Good Luck! Check the latest driving direction online. There was road construction on the part of the street and you may need to detour to get there.

They didn't let me take it early. There wasn't that many people over there, probably 4. They said if I missed that date, I can only do in the following wednesday. So I have to wait till JULY 30TH.

Anyway thanks for your help, I probably might try it some other Wednesday as that building is just 2 blocks from where I work.

Try again next time. May be there was a different officer this time. They had no problem to let me do my FP early.
