Dear gurus:
Please share your experience/comments on my situation.
My greencard was approved in Sept. 2004. Now there is an opportunity for me to work at our London office. I am thinking about filing a re-entry permit application because the assignment will last over 1 year. Here are my questions:
1. Can I file I-131 by myself? The only supporting document other than the form itself is a copy of the green card, right?
2. What reason shall I put down for the form? Can I simply tell the truth, intra-company transfer?
3. Should I buy an apartment/house to establish close tie to the U.S. just to be on the safe side when later on the citizenship issue comes up? If not, I might just as well put down my friend's residence on the form?
many thanks to all,
